I saw your smile.

And I was jolted to the core.

The curve that lingered on your lips,
All these years I have been with you….
I took it for granted.

I boasted of owning that smile.
I prided myself on orchestrating it.

As we held each other close,
I stared at your smile.

And saw the pain that engraved it.

The aches I gifted to you
Without remorse,
As I kept on losing myself in the glittery falsehood of the world.

My heart has never learnt how to spell Sorry…
Your everlasting smile left no space for that.

So tonight
I find myself
At the mercy of your smile.

Please dear
Smile for me once again,

Like that first day…
